Daily Money Manager

Making sure the chemistry works, in a business or personal relationship, is key.  I’d like you to get to know me – beyond the bullet points of a resume.

The Dollars and Sense

Ellen Rosenthal, Financial CaregiverI’ve been sitting at people’s kitchen tables as a Daily Money Manager (DMM) since 2005.  Other parts of my finance experience include: Client Services Manager for a Certified Financial Planner; Budget Officer for a commercial bank; financial analyst in the high tech industry. I have an MBA from Babson College and a BA from Simmons College.

The Write Stuff

Incorporating my love of writing into my career has been important. My first job was as an Advertising Copywriter for Filene’s in Boston. I got to write about clothes, shoes, and cosmetics.  Is there anything better for a 22 year old girl?  I have co-authored a personal finance book, been an Editor for a business and finance news retrieval service, and written training materials for the American Association of Daily Money Managers.  For more information, visit my blog at Kitchen Table Finance.

Red Sox……..The Boston Red Sox is Ellen's favorite team

I’ve lived in Florida for a little over twenty years.  I’m from the Boston area and am a lifelong Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics fan.  Lobster to me is the perfect food.  Do the words bubbler, frappe, jimmies, or wicked good mean anything to you?

A Little Bit Artsy Craftsy

Scouring thrift stores, flea markets, and garage sales for old, beat-up pieces of furniture and home items is a hobby.  I then re-purpose and paint them.  I’m learning to play golf and am at the stage of being happy just to get the ball in the hole nine times.  Eighteen?  Not sure if I’m going to ever get there.

Samples of my art: a restored and repainted accent table, a lovingly restored occasional table, and a re-purposed cigar box for jewelry.
